Good question! He's biracial with half Lekeii heritage (Dewina mentioned it earlier but we'll go into mrore detail later on). The Lekeii are a race in this particular fantasy world that are huge zombie-looking folks, but they can have kids with other races like anyone else. The kids turn out with varying levels of tall/pale. You'll see more of them in the general crowds and about their different cultures as the story continues.
